Experts say that the average adult needs between 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep each night. And you know what? I try my darndest to get all of that sleep in because sleep is incredibly important for both physical and mental health. Sleep is when our brain processes and organizes information, forming new memories. Sleep is when our body repairs muscles and releases hormones to regulate growth. Sleep is when I’m relaxing in my super comfy bed with a fancy high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Sleep is awesome. But despite all of this, I don’t always get my 7.5 to 8 hours of peaceful rest. And in many instances, it wasn’t because I didn’t give myself enough time.
